EPP DEEPLY SADDENED BY ACCIDENT IN MADRID'S AIRPORT

The President and Secretary General of the European People's Party (EPP), Wilfried Martens and Antonio López-Istúriz, have today expressed their condolences to the families of the victims who suffered in today's accident at Madrid's Barajas airport when a passenger plane swerved off the runway.
“We are very shocked to hear about this accident; unfortunately one of the most serious accidents in Europe in recent times. We would like to show our support and solidarity to the Spanish people and authorities at this difficult time," they said.
