Ahead of the European Council, the leaders of the European People’s Party (EPP) met today in Brussels (list of participants). Just prior to the general elections in Spain, the EPP leaders adopted a declaration reiterating their support for the PP and condemning the attack against Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy:
The EPP wishes to express its solidarity with Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy after the outrageous attack suffered yesterday during the campaign in Pontevedra. We will always condemn violent acts, especially those perpetrated during electoral campaigns. The EPP wishes to support Partido Popular (PP) for the upcoming Parliamentary elections of December 20th.The European political family of the PP reiterates its full trust in the work carried out by the PP and the government led by Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy which, for the past four years, has implemented policies that have brought Spain stability, security, continuity, steady economic recovery, growth and job creation, social balance and more hope for the future.The challenges faced by Europe and Spain will require a committed, strong and responsible Spanish government, which Partido Popular has proved to deliver.Líderes del EPP dan su apoyo al PP condenando el ataque contra Rajoy

En el día de hoy y antes del Consejo Europeo, los líderes del Partido Popular Europeo (PPE) se reunieron en Bruselas (lista de participantes). Justo antes de las elecciones generales en España, los líderes del EPP adoptaron una declaración reiterando su apoyo al PP además de condenar la reciente agresión sufrida por el Primer Ministro Mariano Rajoy:
El PPE quiere expresar su solidaridad con el Presidente Mariano Rajoy después del ataque intolerable sufrido ayer durante la campaña en Pontevedra. Siempre condenaremos cualquier acto violento, especialmente aquellos perpetrados durante una campaña electoral. Manifestamos nuestro más firme apoyo al Partido Popular (PP) de cara a las elecciones generales que se celebrarán en España el próximo domingo 20 de diciembre.Desde el Partido Popular Europeo (PPE), la familia europea del PP, queremos transmitir nuestra confianza en el Partido Popular y en las políticas desarrolladas en los últimos cuatro años por el Gobierno de Mariano Rajoy, el único que garantiza la experiencia, la estabilidad, la seguridad, la continuación de la recuperación económica, el crecimiento, la creación de empleo, las políticas sociales y la confianza en el futuro.Ante los nuevos retos que Europa y España afrontan, necesitamos un gobierno en España fuerte, consolidado, serio, comprometido y responsable como es el gobierno del PP.

A la veille des élections générales en Espagne, les dirigeants du PPE ont adopté une déclaration réitérant leur soutien au PPE et condamnant l’attaque contre le Premier ministre Mariano Rajoy :
Le PPE souhaite exprimer sa solidarité avec le Premier ministre Mariano Rajoy après la scandaleuse attaque subie hier lors de la campagne à Pontevedra. Nous condamnerons toujours les actes de violence, en particulier ceux commis lors de campagnes électorales. Le PPE souhaite exprimer son soutien au Partido Popular (PP) en vue des élections législatives du 20 décembre prochain. La famille politique européenne du PPE réitère sa totale confiance dans le travail fait par le PP et par le gouvernement du Premier ministre Mariano Rajoy qui, au cours des quatre dernières années, a mis en place des politiques qui ont apporté à l’Espagne stabilité, sécurité, continuité, une reprise économique stable, croissance et création d’emplois, équilibre social et plus de confiance dans l’avenir.Les défis auxquels font face l’Espagne et l’Europe toute entière requièrent un gouvernement espagnol engagé, fort et responsable, ce que le Partido Popular a montré d’être capable d’assurer.

The Party Platform was developed in EPP Working Group 1 for “European Policy” chaired by EPP President Wilfried MARTENS ?and EPP Vice President Peter HINTZE. The Working Group consists of delegates of EPP member parties who prepared and worked?on this document for more than two years and received input?from the drafting committee as well as senior and young experts. The document was adopted at the 2012 EPP Congress in Bucharest, thus replacing the Basic Programme of Athens from 1992.
