EPP Vice-President David McAllister presents election programme of CDU and CSU for the parliamentary election in Germany on 26 September Germany will elect a new parliament on 26 September. CDU and CSU aim to once again become the strongest political group in the Bundestag and form a government led by our CDU Chairman, Armin Laschet, as Federal Chancellor. Both sister parties have presented a joint manifesto, "The programme for stability and renewal. Working together for a modern Germany”. The promise of CDU and CSU is to provide security and cohesion in times of change. We want to ensure that Germany enters a decade of modernization after the pandemic: with growth and economic strength, with good and secure jobs, with effective and innovative climate protection, with a modern administration and with a consistent commitment to a strong state. CDU and CSU will work tirelessly to ensure that Germany becomes a climate-neutral industrial country that combines economy, ecology and social security. The European dimension of our policies is covered at the beginning of our programme, as the EU must be more capable of acting in a determined way and ready for fundamental reforms. A short English summary of the programme can be found here. The very comprehensive, 140 pages long, programme in German language can be found here.
