Athens, 3 December 2022 EPP leaders gathered in Athens on December 2 and 3 for a political retreat.
This informal format initiated by the newly elected President of the EPP, Manfred Weber, and hosted for the first time by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis demonstrates the unity, team spirit, and political determination of the EPP family to tackle the numerous challenges Europe is facing. The EPP, throughout its long history, has repeatedly proven its capacity to respond to crises with pragmatic solutions in an inclusive and honest manner. Today, a strong center-right family is needed more than ever. EPP Leaders’ informal gathering is the first step in crafting our political strategy for the benefit of our citizens and in view of the next European election. For the EPP, Europe matters and because it matters it needs to empower Europe at every level. Therefore, the EPP is building a new and solid center-right base, rooted in our Christian democratic heritage, to respond to the needs of all our citizens.
