The European People’s Party (EPP) will hold its Congress on 7 and 8 November in Finland. Detailed information can be found at Co-hosted by Kokoomus leader Petteri ORPO, EPP President Joseph DAUL and EPP Secretary General Antonio LÓPEZ-ISTÚRIZ, the Congress in Helsinki will focus on preparations for the 2019 European elections and the election of the EPP’s lead candidate (Spitzenkandidat). 2,000 participants from more than 40 countries have been invited to participate in the Congress in Helsinki. Alex STUBB and Manfred WEBER, who are running to become EPP’s candidate for the Presidency of the European Commission, will be present. Congress Date: Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 November 2018 Venue: Helsinki Messukeskus Congress Centre. Accreditation Journalists wishing to attend the EPP Congress must register by 30 October 2018 at 13:00 CET via the dedicated e-form at: Journalists should pick up their badges at the accreditation desk which is located at the Congress venue. Please bring your Press ID with you.
The accreditation area will be open on: Wednesday 7 November from 08:00 until 19:30 and on Thursday 8 November from 08:00 until 14:00 Due to security screening, journalists should anticipate some delays. Press working area There will be a press working area in which the pool signal will be distributed. Please note that on 8 November, the press working area will close at 18:00. Opening press Conference The press conference will feature EPP President Joseph Daul, Kokoomus leader Petteri Orpo and EPP Secretary General Antonio López-Istúriz.
