EPP leaders to meet for Summit in Sibiu ahead of European Council on 9 May – list of participants

EU heads of state and government and opposition leaders of the European People’s Party (EPP) and the Presidents of the European Council, the European Commission and the European Parliament – Donald TUSK, Jean-Claude JUNCKER and Antonio TAJANI – will participate in the upcoming EPP Summit, to take place in Sibiu on 9 May alongside Romanian President Klaus IOHANNIS. The agenda of the EPP summit will focus on the preparation for the informal meeting of EU heads of state and government on 9 May in the framework of the Romanian EU Presidency. EPP President Joseph DAUL will host the Summit. The EPP’s Lead Candidate for the 2019 European elections and Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, Manfred WEBER, PNL President Ludovic ORBAN, EPP Secretary General Antonio LÓPEZ-ISTÚRIZ and members of the EPP Presidency will participate. Heads of state and government Nicos ANASTASIADES (Cyprus), Boyko BORISSOV (Bulgaria), Krišjānis KARIŅŠ (Latvia), Sebastian KURZ (Austria), Angela MERKEL (Germany), Andrej PLENKOVIĆ (Croatia) and Leo VARADKAR (Ireland) will participate. Opposition leaders Frank ENGEL (Luxembourg) and Janez JANŠA (Slovenia) will also be present.
