EPP leaders to meet in Sibiu on 9 May to prepare for informal meeting of EU heads of state or government – press accreditation

EU heads of state and government and opposition leaders of the European People’s Party (EPP) and the Presidents of the European Council, the European Commission and the European Parliament - Donald TUSK, Jean-Claude JUNCKER and Antonio TAJANI – have been invited to participate in the upcoming EPP Summit, to take place in Sibiu on 9 May, in the framework of the Romanian EU Presidency spearheaded by Romanian President Klaus IOHANNIS. The agenda of the EPP summit will focus on the preparation for the informal meeting of EU heads of state and government on 9 May. EPP President Joseph DAUL will host the Summit. The Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament and the EPP’s Lead Candidate for the 2019 European elections, Manfred WEBER, PNL President Ludovic ORBAN and EPP Secretary General Antonio LÓPEZ-ISTÚRIZ will participate. Nicos ANASTASIADES (Cyprus), Boyko BORISSOV (Bulgaria), Klaus IOHANNIS (Romania), Krišjānis KARIŅŠ (Latvia), Sebastian KURZ (Austria), Angela MERKEL (Germany), Andrej PLENKOVIĆ (Croatia) and Leo VARADKAR (Ireland) have been invited.
