The Presidency of the European People's Party (EPP) has adopted during a meeting in Brussels the following statement on the situation in Ukraine:
"During the last year Ukraine has been facing very difficult internal and external challenges: the annexation of Crimea, Russian aggression causing the war in the eastern territory of Ukraine and a very difficult economic situation. In this turbulent time the EPP wants to express its strongest support to the Ukrainian people, who with courage and dignity are going through all of these challenges, and to the Ukrainian government, which is making tremendous efforts to carry out tough, but vital reforms for the country.
We appeal to all our members and partners, including Batkivshchyna, UDAR, People's Front and Block of Petro Poroshenko, to preserve the coalition and to support the rapid and efficient reform process undertaken by the government and supported by the coalition. Ukraine needs real changes, reforms, and the elimination of corruption, as well as independent justice and the rule of law - this is a necessary path, which the country must take in order to achieve prosperity and democracy. In this crucial and historic time all democratic political forces have to stand united to resist the Russian aggression and to achieve a better future for the country and for the Ukrainian people. For the first time in Ukrainian history, democratic pro-European forces have such broad support and so strong a mandate from the Ukrainian people.
Ukraine is part of our big European family. The whole of Europe is standing behind Ukraine and reaching out the hand of support and solidarity to the Ukrainian people. A successful Ukraine will lead to a stronger Europe and prosperous common future."

The EPP Platform is the core programme of our party outlining our main values, explaining the challenges our society is facing and presenting our vision for the future of European Union.
The Party Platform was developed in EPP Working Group 1 for “European Policy” chaired by EPP President Wilfried MARTENS ?and EPP Vice President Peter HINTZE. The Working Group consists of delegates of EPP member parties who prepared and worked?on this document for more than two years and received input?from the drafting committee as well as senior and young experts.
